Kayak the scenic, protected canal of Michigan's first county park, Elizabeth Park.  Great for beginners and fun for the whole family. Catch a glimpse of birds, turtles, and wild flora as you paddle under the Park's historic arched bridges. 
Dates:  Saturdays and Sundays as well as Memorial Day and Labor Day from May 23, 2015 - September 6, 2015
Weekday group paddles, for 10 or more, are available by calling RKC at (734)285-2925.  (All dates are weather permitting.)

Time:  11:00 am - 4:00 pm 
Location:  Elizabeth Park, Elizabeth Park Drive off of West Jefferson Avenue in Trenton, Michigan, look for us on the right side after you cross the bridge into the main entrance.

Fee:  $10.00 per paddler per 1 hour of paddling time. 

Kayaks:  Riverside Kayak Connection provides stable and maneuverable recreational single person kayaks.  We do offer a limited number of tandem (two person) kayaks.  All kayaks are available on a first come/first served basis.  RKC provides paddles and life jackets, which must be on and zipped while you are on the water.  See What to Bring for items you may want to bring with you.
Route:  From the launch location you will go left and paddle the canal.  When you reach Grosse Ile Parkway you will have to turn around and paddle back to the launch.  There is fence across the canal at Grosse Ile Parkway.  Please do not paddle close to the fence.
Route Classification:  Beginner Paddle

Minimum Age:  6 - 12 year olds must be in a tandem kayak with a parent or guardian to participate.  
                        13 - 18 year olds are allowed to paddle in a single with a parent or guardian also paddling.

Parking:  Free parking is available along the road that loops around the park.  Parking is only allowed on the right side of the loop per park rules.

Sign Up:  No prior sign up is required.  If you have a large group you may contact the shop at (734)285-2925 prior to your paddle so that we may accommodate your group.
